Terms and Conditions of Carriage
This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions under which Dans Man and Van Services (“the
Carrier”, “we”, “our”, “us”) agrees to provide transportation and moving services to the Customer
(“you”, “your”). By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Definitions
- “Goods”: all items, property, or belongings to be transported.
- “Services”: loading, transportation, unloading, and any other tasks agreed.
- “Customer”: the person or entity booking the services.
2. Carrier’s Liability
- We will take reasonable care of goods during loading, transport, and unloading.
- We shall not be liable for loss, damage, or delay where caused by:
* Insufficient or inadequate packing by the Customer.
* Fragile or breakable items not declared prior to booking.
* Electrical, mechanical, or internal faults in appliances or equipment.
* Items of exceptional, sentimental, or special value (including antiques, artwork, jewellery, cash, or
important documents).
* Circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g. accidents, traffic, weather, road closures).
3. Insurance and Limits of Liability
- Our liability is limited to a maximum of £1,000,000 per booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The Customer is responsible for arranging additional insurance cover where necessary.
- Any claim must be made in writing within 48 hours of delivery.
4. Access and Parking
- The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate and lawful access at both collection and
delivery addresses.
- Parking charges, fines, penalties, or delays due to restricted access shall be borne by the
Customer.
- We reserve the right to levy additional charges for difficult or unsafe access, including stairs,
narrow hallways, or unsuitable parking arrangements.
5. Loading, Unloading, and Customer Responsibility
- The Customer must be present, or represented, during collection and
delivery. Unless otherwise agreed.- The Customer is responsible for:
* Supervising the handling of goods.
* Ensuring items are safely packed and ready for transport unless otherwise agreed in writing.
* Declaring any fragile, hazardous, or oversized goods.
- We reserve the right to refuse to carry goods that are unsafe, excessively heavy, illegal, likely to
cause damage or need dismantling/reassembled unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Delays, Cancellations, and Waiting Time
- While we make all reasonable efforts to meet agreed times, we accept no liability for delays
beyond our control.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to booking may incur a charge of up to 100% of the
quoted fee.
Dans Man and Van Services
- Waiting time charges may apply if loading/unloading exceeds the agreed schedule.
7. Excluded and Prohibited Goods
We do not accept for carriage:
- Hazardous, flammable, toxic, or explosive items.
- Perishable goods, live animals, or plants.
- Illegal substances, or contraband.
8. Payment Terms
- Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of services.
- Failure to make payment may result in goods being withheld until full settlement is received.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and
Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between the Carrier and the Customer. No verbal
representations or assurances shall override these written terms unless confirmed in writing.
